When you combine a great tone with a great pitch, that’s when the magic happens(click to tweet) Getting good at sales has a very specific formula to it, and when you learn that formula, you can dominate the sales industry. Because, instead of flailing around and trying new things out all the time, never knowing if they’ll work or not, when you have a formula you know what works, and from there you can simply hone and refine that formula. Today, I’m talking with Chris Smith of Curaytor about what goes into highly effective and persuasive sales. We talk about how too many people focus on features over benefits, when the benefits actually sell the product, why you should listen more and talk less, how to use tone, and much more! I talked a lot about health, but we also dig into why marketing is really more about vibes and then science, how retargeting is really just scaling relationship marketing, which is the most effective type of marketing, how the human brain is risk-averse and why this makes us avoid new things, and why you must optimize your body for stress reduction. “It’s the stuff you DON’T do that will scam you” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Today I am going to show you the 4 steps to making money online. The only way to create serious wealth is to create what I call “robotic income.” This is the income that is happening constantly, without your own actions It’s happening while you do other things, while you sleep, etc. This means that if you want to make $1,000 per week, you don’t have to divide by that amount by the normal 40 hour workweek (which would come out to $2,5 per hour), but you can divide it by 24 hours per day, coming to 168 hours per week, meaning you only have to figure out how to make $5.95 per hour. Which seems easier? This is the power of robotic, passive income. As you ramp up your income and diversify through multiple streams of income, you can get to the point where, like me, you’re able to bring in $100k/day in income. “Always stay intellectually curious” - Naveen Jain(click to tweet) The saying goes, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink,” to demonstrate that if someone doesn’t want or is unwilling to do something for themselves that would be good for them, there is little you can do. But if you focus your efforts instead on how you make the horse thirsty, you’ve solved the problem. This thirst is what Naveen Jain says anyone who wants to be successful needs to cultivate. It is intellectual curiosity, and a desire to constantly learn, and it is what separates the greats, those who are super successful, from the rest. If you want to be successful, you need to cultivate inside yourself this desire to learn. Find out how billionaire Naveen Jain learns every day, on this episode of The Tai Lopez Show! “All marketing is rooted in psychology” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) When launching a physical product, start with Amazon. When shopping online, customers have a built-in bias towards making purchases on Amazon, so there is little friction to get someone to buy there, as opposed to other places like your own e-commerce site. However, as you progress, it will probably be a good idea to start making sales on your own site, whether through Shopify or some other platform, so that you can capture emails and have other methods of communicating with your customers. “When you’re stubborn, you limit your opportunities and your potential” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Stubbornness is a character trait that, if left undealt with, will wreak havoc on your attempts at success. Anytime you start to get on the right road, a tendency to be stubborn will sabotage your attempts, hold you down, and keep you where you are. The successful in life are the constant learners, and the only way to be constantly learning new things is to let go of stubbornness, your tendencies to cling to your own ways and reject outside input, and embrace a mindset that is always learning from any input you receive. “To be good in business, you have to be able to listen carefully and read people” - Tai Lopez (click to tweet) Stubbornness is a primary reason for most people’s inability to achieve what they want, and be successful on their own terms. When you are stubborn, you limit your opportunities. But the truth is that really good opportunities do not come around too often in life, so if you really want to be successful you have to seize them when they do, and take full advantage of them. In addition, a lot of people are completely unwilling and even unable to see their own faults, because of their sensitivity to input and correction from others. When you are corrected, but all you can see or feel is how hurt you are that someone else doesn’t think you know everything, you are setting yourself up for failure. “The idea of machismo as the core of attraction is deeply flawed, and a recipe for unhappiness” - Richard Prum(click to tweet) The idea of the macho-male at the forefront of what we consider attractive in males is a deeply flawed construct, and one that leads to a lot of unhappiness among humans and in relationships. While machismo can play a role, it is important that males also get in touch with their more tender and caring side. “Beauty can function somewhat like an irrationally exuberant market bubble” - Richard Prum(click to tweet) The evolutionary view of beauty has traditionally been that humans evolved a sense of what was beautiful based on practically. We’re often taught that things like the waist to hip ratio are a long-ingrained sign of fertility to men, which is why we find them attractive. My guest today, Richard Prum, has a different view. He says that beauty can be viewed more as an “irrationally exuberant financial market bubble.” In other words, it’s not so cut and dry, and natural selection has led each of us, within our own cultures, to develop a sense of what we consider attractive, not dependent on the practicality of evolutionary considerations. “Some people think online learning is a scam, but consider the scam that is college debt with no guarantee” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) People are quick to label online education a scam, when traditional education is much closer to a scam than almost any education online. Think about it: When you go to college, you have no money-back guarantee, and often very subpar educators. When you learn online, you have the opportunity to learn from some of the very best in the world, without any consideration of location, and not only that but many online courses, like mine, come with money-back guarantees, so that if you are unsatisfied for some reason, you can get a refund. Plus, studies have been done which show that, in general, people learn a small amount better online than in person. As it turns out, the science is in. People sometimes think online education is a scam just because they are not willing to put in the work to get the results, but that is a problem with the student, not teacher, and not with the education itself. If you’re quick to label online education a scam, think it through, and ask yourself what you really mean. Don’t forget, you can listen to The Tai Lopez Show on Spotify! “The true definition of “luck” in this modern age is learning early” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) To determine the financial value potential of something right now, there is a simple formula: Future value = present value of future revenue. This is the formula that you can use when examining business ideas and opportunities, when looking into investments, and all other areas of financial potential. Today, I am talking about that formula, as well as why apartments are one of the lower risk real estate opportunities, the 2 ways you make money, how to monetize a brand beyond normal operations, why life is like poker, 3 ways to start a side hustle, why haters hate, why mindset is the main thing holding people back, and what the butterfly effect means for the importance of the little decisions you make everyday. “Break your goals down into small steps to reduce the intimidation around them” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) In order to achieve something, you must know the steps between where you are now, and where you want to be. A lot of people have big goals, but unless those goals are broken down into the required, manageable steps, you will not know the path forward. This is why I recommend the practice of inversion: Invert where you want to be, by what it will take to get there. If you want to make $100,000 per year, find out how much that is per day, and then find out how much per hour. Then, focus on achieving that hourly goal. Follow this formula to break your goals down into their manageable steps, to know the specifics of the way forward to achieve them. Don’t forget, you can listen to The Tai Lopez Show on Spotify! “You have to be able to see possibilities before you pursue possibilities” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Your potential will be what you decide it is. The reality is that what holds most people back is their own mindset. If you think you have unlimited potential, within your circle of competence, you really do have unlimited potential within that circle. The circle of competence refers the range of things that you are really competent in. For instance, if you are not at all naturally athletic, you do not have unlimited potential in athletic pursuits. But provided you have a certain level of competence within a pursuit or skill, your potential is probably only being limited by what you mindset is. So increase the range of your mindset, and what you believe is possible for you to achieve. As you do that, you will see your results begin to increase in kind. “You can never remove all uncertainty from your life, you just need to stack the deck in your favor” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Do you understand the natural cycles of life? There are season of prosperity in any life, and the winter is when things dry up, when you don’t have as much going on, when your income is down and it seems like you can’t get anything off the ground. This is the time that you have to prepare for. Those who have built real wealth have done so through an understanding of this, and a preparation for the winter. As long as you are prepared for the winter, you can weather the storm. The winter only destroys those who were foolish enough to think it would never come, and so never prepared for it. But have you considered that the personality traits of someone who is likely to chase you may not ultimately be the personality traits you are looking for in a relationships? Today’s episode is all about personalities, the dark triad of personality traits, and how you can use tests and an understanding of human behavior to spot people that may not be ideally suited to you and your own personality. If you want to have a good life, relationships will be essential to that, and if you want good relationships, you need an understanding of personalities. “The closest analogy to love is hypnotism, so be very careful if you think you’re in love” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Understanding people, and have a core, foundational understanding of personality types is essential if you want to know who you should date, who you should have a relationships with, and who you should avoid. The closest analogy to love is hypnotism, which is why you simply cannot trust your own feelings when it comes to relationships. Sometimes, you need to rely on models and personality tests to show you the warning signs. Then, as you get better and better at reading personality types, you will get better at making judgement-calls about the people you meet. If you struggle with procrastination, this episode will give you the tools that you need to kick that bad habit for good. The problem comes from a mental bias which, once you define it and are aware of it, you can adjust to show yourself how much the momentary pain is worth it for the reward at the end of the tunnel. It’s all about changing your own subconscious perceptions of the reward/pain ratio, and this episode will teach you how to do just that. “Don’t think about broad goals, get specific” -Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Points to Keep In Mind

“Your goals and prizes should be tangible” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Very few people understand the the risk/reward bias in human brains, and how it can hold you back from achieving what you want to achieve. Many people have an inaccurate understanding of the amount of pain, or work, that it will take for them to achieve their goals, as compared to the amount of happiness it will bring them when they finally do achieve those goals. This is why humans procrastinate. If they really understood the value, to them, of achieving what they were striving for in all its detail, they would not procrastinate but would be motivated to do the amount of work necessary to achieve that goal. This episode shows you how you can change that subsconscious misunderstanding in your own life, to help you overcome the instinct to procrastinate, and rather get down to work creating the life of your dreams! “The current education system doesn’t focus on the right things” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Today’s educational system is not setup for people to learn in a way that will really help them in the future. Because of standardized tests, rules, and regulations, the school system actually encourages people to pump as much information as possible into their brain before a test, and then simply dump it out as soon as they are done with the test. An educational system that would work much better would be one that focused on teaching people how to think creatively, how to have common sense, and how to have a strong work ethic. Instead of learning how to memorize facts that anyone can pull up on their phone at a moment’s notice, we should be encouraging students to focus on the skills that will really get them far in life. “Spend at least a couple hours per day really thinking through what you’re doing in your life” - Tai Lopez(click to tweet) Unintended consequences often negate the good that a regulation or ruling in government is trying to do. In fact, often the problem that was supposed to be solved is simply magnified through the unintended consequences, and the same thing can be true for your life. That is why I believe that entrepreneurs, and really everyone else as well, need to learn game theory, to understand the various ways in which their decisions will affect other people’s decisions, thereby potentially changing the outcome, and sometimes reversing the good you were trying to do with the decision in the first place.
