“It used to cost at least $100,000 to $200,000 to get into business. Today, you can literally start a business for under $100.” - Tai Lopez

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Think about business ideas from an angle of what you use in the house
  • You want to launch businesses that have competition
    • Example: McDonald’s only has 10% of the fast-food market
  • Choose a simple, memorable domain name
  • Use GoDaddy or Namecheap when purchasing a domain name
  • Look through AliExpress when finding a source for your product
    • AliExpress will do the shipping for you when someone orders your product
  • Use Shopify or ClickFunnels to build an online store on your domain
  • Today, you can literally start a business for under $100
  • When Jeff Bezos started Amazon in 1994, the website cost $100,000
  • Use Facebook ads to target specific demographics of people online
  • The best marketing is demonstration; show, don’t tell
  • To become rich, you must become a master of common sense
  • Understand that huge brands can disappear (ex: Myspace and American Apparel)
  • There’s no change without a change in routine
  • Don’t blame external resources
  • There are 3 reasons people are broke: procrastination, fear, and overanalysis

It’s easy to blame externalities.

When we zoom out to examine our lives, we often find ourselves disappointed in the position we’re in. The immediate response to this is to try to find reason for why we’re not where we want to be. By placing the fault on things outside of ourselves, we relieve ourselves of the responsibility, ultimately not addressing the problem and instead fueling the stagnation.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are talking about how to find the power inside ourselves with political commentator Ben Shapiro. Ben is the editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire. As a controversial political figure, Ben is subject to much criticism and controversy. Today, we hear his thoughts on everything related to politics, the government, the education system, and much more.

“You have to believe you can succeed. You have to believe in an individual capacity to do better than what you are doing.” - Ben Shapiro

(click to tweet)

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Jealousy fuels tribalism
  • Success requires believing in an individual capacity to succeed
  • According to the Brookings Institute: in the United States, there are 3 things to ensure you’re not poor: don’t have kids before you’re married, graduate high school, and get a job
  • The position of President has too much power
  • Be aware of how media warps messaging
  • Nothing besides military is solved by a federal government
  • Studies show that quality of education is more determined by factors like how the family treats education than any sort of government system
  • The problem is people looking to the federal government for solutions; localism is the solution
  • The single greatest predictor of poverty is being born into single motherhood
  • The focus of marriage has moved from the production and raising of kids to “are you in love?”
  • The whole reason society has an interest in marriage is to make sure there’s a mom and dad in the home
  • When dating, figure out values not common ground
  • Tutorial learning (what our education system employs) only works for 85% of the population
  • Albert Einstein, “The thing about smart people is that they seem crazy to stupid people”
  • Don’t force it, take the opportunities that come to you
  • The quality of immigration is largely dependent on the quality of the system you are immigrating to

“Catch trends before most people. You’ll make a hell of a lot more money. In the long-run, there’s no excess profits of anything.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

We all want the next big thing.

But most people sit back, thinking that the inspiration will just come upon them one day. This is the false idea of success that prevents us from achieving our dreams. If we instead look at the trends, we can calculate and manifest a different reality by riding the waves of what tides are rising.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to catch trends early. Through my experience affiliate marketing over the past ten years, we look at big developments in the online marketing world. These success stories illuminate the indicators to be on the lookout for when trying to catch the next big trend.

Points to Keep In Mind

  • If you don’t have a college degree, get into commission sales (cars, financial services, etc.)
  • Find mentors and tell them, “If you teach me what you know, I’ll work for you for free”
  • Selling life insurance is the most difficult sell
  • A click in financial services used to cost around $.20/click
    • Today, life insurance services cost $17/click
  • Catch trends before most people
    • In the long-run, there’s no excess profits of anything
  • The top-ranking ETF of 2017 was in cryptocurrency
  • Current trends: tiny houses, cannabis, backpacks
  • If you only push others’ products, try to to develop your own product this year
  • Try to embed ‘edutainment’ inside your content
    • There is a lot of money inside content that is both funny and educational
  • Recreation is overrated
  • Try to sense what the next big trend is and get there before the masses

Our President is everywhere.

No matter where you turn, his face and some news headline is screaming at you. The mass media makes it near impossible for us to focus on anything else. However, some of the blame must be put on ourselves for keeping those Twitter feeds open, leaving the TV on, and letting our Facebook friends dictate our thoughts.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the importance of the President. By examining this, we can better understand what’s actually happening in our day-to-day when we become distracted by the mass hysteria. Inside this discussion, we unpack the other things that are important in life: diet, exercise, lifestyle, etc.

Tune in to this conversation to learn how to reframe your understanding of the President’s importance.

“People think entrepreneurs are risk-takers, but they’re actually the exact opposite.” - Anik Singal

(click to tweet)

There are the people who care about you and the people who don’t.

Deciphering who belongs in which camp can sometimes be challenging. As our stock grows, more and more people come into our lives, wanting to be a part of the rising tide. But are they there to contribute or just ride the waves?

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Anik Singal, founder of e-learning company Lurn. Anik’s insights spread across many different domains of business: from picking yourself up out of rock bottom to making deals in the boardroom, we can take our entrepreneur game to the next level from learning Anik’s story.

“Most people think they need to be Batman in a sales situation. Instead, position yourself as Robin and make the thing you’re selling Batman.” - Anik Singal

(click to tweet)

Points to Keep In Mind

  • You can tell who your real friends are in failure
  • Failure provokes introspection; take note of your answers to “Why?” during this time period
  • Don’t let ego get in the way of your methodology during times of success; do the risk analysis
  • Listen to your mentors
  • Study your past patterns/cycles to figure out what was behind times of success and failure
  • Implement and take action
  • Hire how many people can be supervised, not how many people you can hire
  • The introduction of an ad needs to grab attention by answering: what’s in it for you
  • Position yourself as Robin and make the thing you’re selling Batman
  • Integrate storytelling to create connection, not credibility
  • We live in the age of interactive marketing; the day of direct marketing is gone
  • Use content to deliver value and build credibility
    • Make your content linear: lists or diagrams
  • Aim for 3-5 ‘Aha moments’; any more will be exhausting for your audience, any less will be disengaging
  • Integrate reason-respecting bias to shed perspective on the price of your product
  • The purpose of the pitch is to ask for a sale, but it’s really to provide value
  • Copywriting is not about trigger-words; it’s a sequence of a specific words that create a story
  • The best e-commerce content is a demo of the product
