Learning doesn’t mean school.

But we grow up thinking that books, worksheets, and homework is the only way to learn something. So we spend our days trying to cram information into our brains via a system that doesn’t work.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the best way to learn: by shadowing someone else. When we go the opposite way of school, we tap into our human instincts like osmosis, and are able to learn with an ease we’ve never felt before.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to control our social circle. As our careers progress, we find more and more people entering our lives. It’s easy to blame externalities.

When we zoom out to examine our lives, we often find ourselves disappointed in the position we’re in. The immediate response to this is to try to find reason for why we’re not where we want to be. By placing the fault on things outside of ourselves, we relieve ourselves of the responsibility, ultimately not addressing the problem and instead fueling the stagnation.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are talking about how to find the power inside ourselves with political commentator Ben Shapiro. Ben is the editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire. As a controversial political figure, Ben is subject to much criticism and controversy. Today, we hear his thoughts on everything related to politics, the government, the education system, and much more.

  • Success requires believing in an individual capacity to succeed
  • According to the Brookings Institute: in the United States, there are 3 things to ensure you’re not poor: don’t have kids before you’re married, graduate high school, and get a job

  • Be aware of how media warps messaging
  • Nothing besides military is solved by a federal government
  • Studies show that quality of education is more determined by factors like how the family treats education than any sort of government system
  • The problem is people looking to the federal government for solutions; localism is the solution
  • The single greatest predictor of poverty is being born into single motherhood
  • The focus of marriage has moved from the production and raising of kids to “are you in love?”
  • The whole reason society has an interest in marriage is to make sure there’s a mom and dad in the home

Points to Keep In Mind

  • You can tell who your real friends are in failure
  • Failure provokes introspection; take note of your answers to “Why?” during this time period
  • Don’t let ego get in the way of your methodology during times of success; do the risk analysis
  • Listen to your mentors
  • Study your past patterns/cycles to figure out what was behind times of success and failure
  • Implement and take action
  • Hire how many people can be supervised, not how many people you can hire
  • The introduction of an ad needs to grab attention by answering: what’s in it for you
  • Position yourself as Robin and make the thing you’re selling Batman
  • Integrate storytelling to create connection, not credibility
  • We live in the age of interactive marketing; the day of direct marketing is gone
  • Use content to deliver value and build credibility
    • Make your content linear: lists or diagrams
  • Aim for 3-5 ‘Aha moments’; any more will be exhausting for your audience, any less will be disengaging
  • Integrate reason-respecting bias to shed perspective on the price of your product
  • The purpose of the pitch is to ask for a sale, but it’s really to provide value

It’s a no-brainer.

When we’re feeling under the weather, we seek out the antibiotic prescription. For bacterial infections, this works incredibly well. Within days, the sickness has cleared out from our system, and we can return to our normal life. But what happens over the long-run from this quick-fix?

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Dr. Martin Blaser, the Director of The Human Microbiome Project at NYU’s School of Medicine, to discuss the dangers of antibiotic use. Dr. Blaser has 28 patents, and is the author of Missing Microbes, a book that examines how our species is devolving with the declining supply of microbes in our system.

“Our system is completely backwards. It’s a false economy. People are making a lot of money out of germaphobia.” - Dr. Martin Blaser

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Humans are actually a partnership between microbes and us (equal numbers of cells)
  • Without microbes we would not be alive
  • There is evidence that our supply of microbes is disappearing
    • Evidence that this is at the root of the rising rates of autism, celiac disease, Alzheimer’s, etc.
  • Most probiotics have not been tested in scientific studies over the long term
  • Kids who take on average more antibiotics than others turn out fatter
  • We only look at the benefits of antibiotics because doctors are too concerned about liability
  • Babies pick up their mother’s microbes in the birth canal
    • Rising rates of cesarean sections are preventing this from happening
  • 70 years ago, agriculture experts figured out that if you feed antibiotics to animals, they gain weight faster
  • Some cities have an antibiotics in their drinking water
  • Sweden uses 40% of the antibiotics we use
  • Epidemics come from the lack of diversity in our current living situations
  • Kids born by C-section are more prone to disease (celiac disease, juvenile diabetes, etc.)
  • The rate of juvenile diabetes is doubling every 25 years
  • A Denmark study showed that antibiotics increase risk of inflammatory bowel disease by 14% in kids
  • We’ve engineered a system where the doctor-patient relationship is sterile
  • Antibiotics change the metabolism in adults
  • We need better diagnostics to determine viral vs. bacterial infections
  • Food preservatives are antibacterials destroying our microbiome
  • Our good bacteria fights the bad bacteria; this is the problem with anti-bacterial products
  • Hospitals and doctors like C-sections because they’re scheduled

Introspection is a luxury.

In our busy lives, we become so consumed by our day-to-day that we rarely take the time to think and breathe. The irony of this is that looking inward is required for personal and professional growth. So, while we might think that filling our calendars is taking us to the next level, we must simultaneously be taking time for ourselves to process and learn.

And on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are talking best meditation practices with Jay Shetty. Jay, who was once a practicing monk in India, is now an award-winning host & storyteller with the Huffington Post. He is part of the 2017 Class of Forbes 30 Under 30, and today we are fortunate to here his insights on meditation and mindfulness.

Banks are willing to lend us credit cards.

With these credit cards, our purchasing power increases. We are able to purchase the things we want, as long as we pay the bank back. But these credit card companies also incentivize us to purchase more with bonuses and gifts. So the question becomes: how can we use these free perks to pay off our credit cards?

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, Stephen Liao teaches us how to sift through the world of credit card perks to be able to do just this. Stephen dropped out of Stanford to figure out the credit card game just a year ago, and today he has a credit-limit that exceeds $3 million spread across 220 different credit cards. If he’s not flying first-class, he’s on a private jet. And if he’s not staying at the Waldorf Astoria, he’s at the Ritz-Carlton. Tune in today to learn his secrets on building a good credit score!

“Humans aren’t really logical. They just think they are.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

We get stuck in our routine.

It’s inevitable that between a full-time job, demands at home, and extra-curricular activities, we can become robotic as we tend to each commitment and obligation. This predictable behavior can feel comfortable and yield a healthy paycheck, but if we’re not careful, we can become confined by it.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing interruption patterns. In our society of comfort and predictability, our days become clones of the previous. In order to break the norm, we must seek out experiences and wakeup calls that interrupt our traditional modes of thinking. When we do this, we can induce that growth and change we have always wanted. Suddenly, we are starting the business that’s been sitting in the back of our head instead of talking about it.

Tune in to today’s episode to learn how to go towards the interruption patterns in your life, so you can start your path to financial freedom!

Every year there’s a new diet.

And with enough publicity, we will latch onto whatever promise it preaches. The unfortunate truth is that no one diet will fix our problems. Health comes from a combination of diet, exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. When we combine all of these forces, our body will respond in the positive direction.

This is Part 2 of our conversation with the immersive journalist. “Nothing is going to change quickly until you have someone walk you through it.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

We think we can do everything ourselves.

But the reality is that even if we can, it is almost always not the most efficient road to success. Whether it’s building a business or learning a new skill, shouldering the entirety of what’s in front of you will present more obstacles than had you sought out a guide or mentor.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the power of mentorship. When we put ourselves in the company of successful people, our brains turn on their natural learning mechanism: osmosis. We pick up their habits, start thinking how they think, and learn how to navigate problems as swiftfully as they do. Listen to today’s episode to learn how to find these mentors and absorb their knowledge, so you can reach the heights they find themselves on!

  • The average person scrolling the Internet is going fast

  • Use the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple & Stupid) mentality when marketing
  • Don’t use generic photography in your marketing materials

  • Articulate the emotional benefits, not the features
  • Understand that your educational system/upbringing has not equipped you
  • Find mentors, guides, and people to shadow in the industries you want to be in
  • For personal brands, don’t use underscores in your Instagram name

“Machiavellianism is when people pursue in an interpersonally exploitative strategy.” - Dr. David Buss

(click to tweet)

We are all flawed.

But instead of trying to fix our own issues, we point the flaws in other people. This is an inescapable part of the human condition; it’s easier to look outwards than it is to look inwards.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by world-renowned evolutionary psychologist, Dr. David Buss, to discuss how to fix ourselves. Professor Buss is the author of The New Science of the Mind, and currently teaches at the University of Texas at Austin. He has previously taught at Harvard and the University of Michigan, and today he explains the mechanics behind human psychology.

“We evolved in small groups, and all groups have status hierarchies. From an evolutionary perspective, reproductively relevant resources always accrue to those with the highest status.” - Dr. David Buss

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Host networking events at your house once a month and invite people you want to connect with
  • Bullying is a massive predictor for psychological problems
  • Machiavellianism is a trait in people who pursue in an interpersonally exploitative strategy
    • This can be masked in charisma
  • Narcissism is a sense of entitlement and skewed value of others vs. value of themselves (welfare-tradeoff ratio)
  • Agreeableness is flexibility, patience, gentleness, and forgiveness
  • Conscientiousness is diligence, prudence, organization, and perfection
  • High psychopathy scores are void of empathy and impermeable to learning how to improve
  • Entrepreneurs score the worst on dark triad tests
  • Narcissism is tied to creativity and intelligence
  • Biggest red flags in long-term mate: high neuroticism or low agreeableness
  • High psychopathy scores are incapable of being fixed

“Biology works by trial & error, and then it keeps the best. If you apply that to business, it’s a very powerful heuristic.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

In evolution, the environment selects which genes to push forward.

And in business, the market determines which ideas are successful. Both biology and entrepreneurship rely on something external to tell them what to do. Thus, we can learn how to build a business from examining the principles of biology.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing why trial and error is the most effective approach to building something great. While developing your product or service inside a locked room might seem like the right thing to do, you must let the environment influence the design. If you don’t, you run the risk of building an idea that people won’t want. So tune in to today’s episode to learn why your $1-million idea only comes from listening to your environment!

Nobody is skeptical of traditional academic institutions.

Yet everyone has an opinion about self-education. The total student loan debt in the United States is now $1.3 trillion, but the attention gets put on the $500 online course that teaches relevant skills like social media marketing or real estate principles.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are responding to a comment from Reddit on the validity of self-education. This post accuses those who sell self-education as being scam artists, and by picking apart this argument, we are able to see the value in self-education compared to its alternatives. For a substantially smaller portion of the academic institution’s price, one can receive better and more applicable education. “What separates people on the path from zero to a million are the people who use better tools. Sharpen your axe.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

It’s easy to feel productive.

If you find tasks and do them, you will finish your days with that feeling of accomplishment. But sometimes we have to ask ourselves: “Is this really what I want to be doing?” Stepping out like this is the application of knowledge, where you put your understanding of how the world works against what you’re doing in your day-to-day to help it.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the value how to apply your knowledge. If we think about our brain as axes that chip away at life, we must recognize when ours is becoming dull from the daily grind. Today’s insights will help you reach the conclusion that gathering knowledge is equally (if not more!) important as applying that knowledge in your day-to-day.

People aren’t buying your product because they believe a story.

The story is something they’re telling themselves. It’s a list of reasons why they don’t need, can’t use, or won’t value your product/service. How you break this story is by getting them to hear a story about someone with those same false beliefs be broken.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Russell Brunson, owner of ClickFunnels.com, a website-builder that has sales funnels cooked into it. “The name isn’t important. What is important is the story behind the name.”- Patrick Bet-David

(click to tweet)

You can rely on your own experience to learn.

And you can also learn from others. Those who only pursue the former strategy live a brutal life of challenges that could have been prevented had they opened their ears to the others’ stories. Which brings us to the second, learning from others.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are learning from Patrick Bet-David, who has succeeded with both his personal and business brands. A child-refugee from Iran, Bet-David ultimately landed in America where he founded his insurance company, PHP Agency, which now employs over 6,000 people. And in more recent years, with the rise of the Internet and social media, Bet-David knew he had to launch his personal brand, Valuetainment, which has 400,000+ subscribers on YouTube.

“If you can make something that’s genuinely educational and funny simultaneously, there’s serious money in that.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

People get too fixated on genre.

They think their personal brand needs to convey a specific tone all the time. Funny, thought-provoking, artistic, whatever the obsession is doesn’t make sense; genre is a categorization structure created by the gatekeepers. But today, with the Internet having torched those gates and made the Wild West of content, there is no such thing as genre. You can create whatever you want.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing a new genre called edutainment. By combining elements of education and entertainment, you are able to blur the lines between the two. This has your audience seeing content they never thought existed. When you have nothing, you figure out what to do when you have something.

For those of us living in the first world, this is a challenging concept to wrap our heads around (because we have so much.) Inducing poverty or struggle would bring us this enlightenment, but the learning curve to get there would be difficult. The next best option is talking to those who have put their minds through this type of growth.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are talking with the master of this technique, Jay Shetty. Jay, who was once a practicing monk in India, deprived himself of food and shelter to reach enlightenment. He is now an award-winning host & storyteller with the Huffington Post. It’s never too late to start building good credit.

Thinking into the future, there will come a day when you need to take out a large sum of money. This could be the down payment on a house or the seed money to start your business. So, the time is now to start building the necessary credit foundation for when that day comes.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, Stephen Liao teaches us how to sift through the world of credit card perks to be able to do just this. We can’t deny how much status means.

As we stand in line waiting to buy the newest iPhone, it’s clear we’re doing it for the status symbol. Our current one works just fine, but the newest model from the most futuristic company on the planet is the microphone we need to tell the world: “I am of high status."

Professor Buss is the author of The New Science of the Mind, and currently teaches at the University of Texas at Austin. “I’ve seen a lot of people who hate to lose. I might be the worst loser. If you’re not a sore loser, you’re not a winner.”- Odell Beckham Jr.

Competitiveness is often frowned upon.

Our friends and family want to see us succeed but don’t understand the level of grit required to get there. As a result, we subdue our inner beast to fit in with others. Reversing that tendency is easier than expected when you listen to the greats talk about their relationship with their competitive spirits.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants to discuss competitiveness. It is no secret that Beckham Jr. is the best wide receiver in the NFL, so today, he answers the question of what does it take to reach the highest level of success? The goal is robotic income.

This is the type of revenue stream that doesn’t require active work. Essentially, you’re making money while doing other things. To do this requires building a business that’s big enough to run by itself or selling product online. For us beginning entrepreneurs, we will start with the latter and use the powers of Shopify and Google Trends to supply niche products at their highest points of demand.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to make money online. By following a simple set of rules, you can create an online revenue stream to supplement whatever income you’re currently generating. Tune in today to hear how to integrate this

There’s no worse place than rock bottom.

By definition, it’s the lowest point in your life. You lie on the floor of your office completely hopeless. But also by definition, rock bottom means that it will never get worse. There’s only one way to go from rock bottom, and that is up.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Anik Singal, founder of e-learning company Lurn. Anik’s insights spread across many different domains of business: from picking yourself up out of rock bottom to making deals in the boardroom. The nature-nurture debate misses the point.

Discussing how much of who we are is genetic makeup vs. environmentally influenced is an unproductive conversation. It’s a high amount in both; we are raised by our parents, the same DNA that makes us up. What we need to be talking about is how to shift the hardwiring that comes from this upbringing.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the value of personality tests in discovering where to push efforts for self-improvement. Unfortunately or fortunately, most of who we are comes from our parents, and in this conversation we talk about what to do with that reality. “Our infrastructure determines what we do. And we’ve become emotionally and economically dependent on our infrastructure.” - Joel Salatin

Making money requires being healthy.

And being healthy requires money. The trick to a successful life is balance, and the moment we lean too much in one direction, we compromise the equilibrium. From our dating lives to our entrepreneurial pursuits, our health monitoring to self-education, each sector of our life needs distinctly different but equal attention.

On this week of The Tai Lopez Show, we spoke with a wide range of experts. From Dr. Blaser explaining the effect antibacterials are having on our body to YesJulz sharing how to grow empire using the power of social media, this week’s episodes had us thinking critically about our day-to-day choices. “It’s about willpower. Not the will to have power of others, but the will to have power of yourself. To the point that all obstacles become nothing.” - Tai Lopez

Don’t label yourself an introvert or extrovert.

Because the moment you do, you will start justifying behavior that fits inside that label. You’ll bail on networking events, telling yourself, “I’m allowed to stay home because I’m an introvert.” And the same goes for extroverts, not locking their door to focus on their latest project.

The truth is there’s no such thing as a pure introvert or extrovert. All of us are somewhere along that spectrum. The trick is figuring out how to maintain equilibrium.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to harness our willpower to stay in the middle of the introvert-extrovert scale. So often life gets in the way, and we lose sight of the big picture, those skills we know we need to hone to achieve our goals. Today we bring the focus back and take a look inward.

Stating the problem does nothing.

But proposing a solution is everything. From poverty to politics, technology to the education system, in just about everywhere you look there is corruption and exploitation. But how can we fix these core issues in society? This is where the conversation should exist, around what sorts of ideas, innovations, and technologies can be integrated to make the world a better place.

And on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are having that conversation. At a roundtable with Dr. David Buss, Alex Mehr, and Joel Salatin, we discuss the solutions to the pressing issues in today’s political/social climate. “We’ve grown up in under an antibiotic umbrella where we think antibiotics are going to cover and cure everything.” - Dr. Martin Blaser

(click to tweet)

When a doctor prescribes an antibiotic, we take it.

We do this because the medicine significantly reduces our pain and suffering. But what we don’t realize are the long-term effects of the antibiotics. Studies show that antibiotics alter our metabolism and contribute to many other diseases like Alzheimer’s and celiac disease. The relief they bring in the moment has attached pain and suffering that we experience later on in life.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Dr. Martin Blaser, the Director of The Human Microbiome Project at NYU’s School of Medicine.

Try to catch trends before they’re trends.

Because once they are, it’s too late. The masses have caught on and CNBC is reporting to the world that they should invest in that asset. To know whether or not something is the next big trend requires seeing the big picture, as well as the small details. Reading books, listening to podcasts, continuing your education in whatever way; this is how you have clear enough vision to see the trends.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to catch trends early. Through my experience affiliate marketing over the past ten years, we look at big developments in the online marketing world. “When somebody says social media or paid advertising is expensive, they don’t get it.” - Joe Soto

Social media is the most effective marketing channel.

This is because you can target the eyeballs that see your ad. Billboards and TV commercials see the eyes of everyone, but an Instagram/Facebook ad can be purposefully put in front of already-motivated buyers. If you have a type of shoe that millennials are wearing, then display that ad on the news feeds of 24-30 year-olds living in the big cities and watch your conversion rates rise.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the importance of social media marketing. From understanding the difference of the live streaming platforms to hearing the insights on taking restaurants on as clients, today’s lesson will help you launch your social media marketing strategies to the new heights.

We’ve all felt analysis paralysis.

Usually it’s because we mistake the detail in front of us for being a productive step towards completing the overall vision. It doesn’t feel good when we fall victim to this cognitive error. We become paralyzed by our mind’s hold over us and can’t see the big picture.

Some tell us to do the right thing, and others don’t. Knowing which to listen to can become confusing in today’s age of distraction. That’s why everyone is meditating, to try to access some sort of unique thought that isn’t the byproduct of an Instagram or Facebook feed.

And if you're not meditating, then one of your meditating friends is prescribing meditation to you. It all makes sense that stillness of mind has risen as the self-help remedy to remove the Internet’s toxins.

And on today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are talking best meditation practices with Jay Shetty. Jay, who was once a practicing monk in India, is now an award-winning host & storyteller with the Huffington Post. What’s wrong with America?

If you’ve been mildly awake in the past year, you’ve sensed the panic in the air. But the panic is the problem. People displace blame to governmental forces, so they can justify their own story. Certainly there are causes and social issues that are exempt from this analysis, but for the most part, we as a society underestimate our individual agency when we choose to believe that a government is stopping us from pursuing our goals.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by political commentator Ben Shapiro. Ben is the editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire. “Selling advanced products to people who don’t understand is a really tough formula. Simplify your marketing.” - Com Mirza

(click to tweet)

You will not succeed the first time around.

And it might not happen on the second. Or the third. If it takes a few attempts before you strike gold, that’s okay. Failure is a necessary step on the road to success. You learn what a business needs when you’re met by unconquerable blockers. The trick is to keeping your head down and persevering through the storm.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by serial entrepreneur Com Mirza. After falling in love with Bill Gates, Com committed his life to starting software companies. “The problem is we have not structured our medicine to look at it in a holistic, global way.” - Dr. Kim

(click to tweet)

You can’t stop aging.

And that’s a good thing. There are many important benefits that come from aging. Our brain develops, our muscles form, and our systems mature. But at some point during the aging process, it turns on us and our body begins to break down.

Right now, depending on the ailment, we respond with treatment. Physical therapy for the injured back, blood-thinners for hypertension, and a new diet for diabetes. But scientists today are learning how to respond before the ailment presents itself. And as our technology continues to grow exponentially more powerful, the question of, “Can we live to 700?” becomes less and less unreasonable.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by gerontologist Dr. Paul H. Kim MD to discuss how realistic living to 700 will be. Dr. Kim’s expertise in genetics, aging, and hematology helps us determine how to best approach aging in the healthiest way possible.

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Clean your blood and look what’s occurring at your cellular level
  • The problem with lab testing is we’re responding to the results as parameters to treat you
  • Medicine looks at things too black-and-white when most diseases are grey
  • Diabetes and hypertension can be noticed far before the manifest (pre-hypertension and pre-diabetes)
  • Look at your genetic makeup to find out where to start your regimen

“You’d be surprised what happens when you speak in the way that comes natural to people.” - Tai Lopez

(click to tweet)

Don’t talk in a scripted way.

Humans can easily detect who is being a phony and who is not. This is something we must take into consideration when we’re in meetings, on sales calls, and presenting to clients. Above any piece of advice you’ve ever received, always remember that being yourself is the top priority.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to be natural in business meetings. With all the material we read on how to close the deal, it’s difficult to remember to be yourself. Today, we reinforce this lesson by stressing the importance of adapting yourself by recognizing who is on the other side of table.

The Psychology of Sales with Anik Singal

“People think entrepreneurs are risk-takers, but they’re actually the exact opposite.” - Anik Singal

(click to tweet)

All sales textbooks seem to say the same thing.

Focus on the key benefits. Provide value. Don’t hesitate on the ask. The more we read these bulletpoints, the more we learn about ‘how to sell.’ But how do we integrate these tips into actually making deals?

The first step is to tell a story. Sales is not the right words; rather, it’s a sequence of the right plot points in a bigger story. Whether it’s telling that story through a pitch deck or a demo, the moment you captivate an audience’s curiosity for what’s going to happen next in a greater narrative is the moment you are making the sale.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are joined by Anik Singal, founder of e-learning company Lurn. Anik’s insights spread across many different domains of business: from picking yourself up out of rock bottom to making deals in the boardroom, we can take our entrepreneur game to the next level from learning Anik’s story.

“Most people think they need to be Batman in a sales situation. Instead, position yourself as Robin and make the thing you’re selling Batman.” - Anik Singal

(click to tweet)

  • Copywriting is not about trigger-words; it’s a sequence of a specific words that create a story
  • The best e-commerce content is a demo of the product

Today, it’s easy to be a ghost.

Amazon will instantly ship whatever you need, Netflix will broadcast whatever you want to watch, and Facebook will provide the virtual social interaction you think suffices. Across the board, the mental and physical requirement to be aware and present is the lowest it’s ever been. The effect of this is that we have become disembodied ghosts floating through our day-to-day.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing how to reverse this mental framework by addressing why we have become this way. How did the education system rob us of our curiosity? How did our parents love (or not love) us? Why did our ex cheat us on us and what does that say about me? Tune in to hear the details, and shed light on your daily stressors and anxiety.

“In 20 years, the Golden Globes will be completely different. The votes will be done through the blockchain and it will be verified and honest.” - Tai Lopez

Why wasn’t Wind River nominated for Best Movie?

Because The Golden Globes are centralized. The moment a system becomes centralized, it becomes corrupt. As soon as elected officials meet in a boardroom or votes are tallied behind closed doors, whatever that system’s goal was, is now compromised. This is the reality of centralization, and if you look across our society, you see it in every sector.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing centralization and how it permeates through every industry. With the advent of blockchain technology, we can be certain that this will not be the case in the near future.

Productivity is a tricky thing to master.

That's because the more time we spend learning about it, the less productive we feel. The productivity books we read and podcasts we listen to are, in a sense, a distraction from the work we know we need to do. But that is all just our mind playing tricks on us. You have to spend time sharpening your axe. And our axe is our mind, and our sharpener is knowledge.

Sometimes the path to self-improvement requires brutal force.

And in a world where self-help books coddle your ego, achieving your desired results is difficult to manifest. Inviting criticism is a way to hack your motivation centers by giving others direct access to your ego. When you flaunt your weaknesses, the feedback you receive, if absorbed as pain but reoriented as fuel, can improve day-to-day performance.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are examining a specific route for us to take on the road to self-improvement. While most tell you to surround yourself with support, this lesson is quite the opposite. Inviting criticism is something we understandably don’t do because of the potential ego damage, but if executed correctly, can result in a sure-fire way to fuel motivation.

“If someone makes fun of you for being too skinny or too fat, ask a doctor if they’re right. If the doctor says you need to gain 20 pounds or lose 20 pounds, then listen to the doctor and be thankful you got those negative comments because they pushed you to health.” - Tai Lopez

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger flaunted his weak legs to invite criticism to fuel his fire
    • He covered his upper body because that was his defense/protection
  • Sigmund Freud said that pain is subjective
    • Arnold Schwarzenegger repurposed the pain as motivation
  • Don’t try to fix stupid people
  • Sensitivity feeds upon itself
  • The Internet is a double-edged sword: good outlet for introverts but breeds unrealistic expectations about dialogue
  • Studies show that those who leave negative comments on social media have psychological pathology
  • Use negative comments as fuel not reason to take offense

“Every single day you should read. And every single day you should act upon what you learned. Why do people think it has to be one or the other?.” - Tai Lopez

The woodcutter who doesn’t sharpen his axe cuts down fewer trees.

This is a lesson for all of us. In today’s world, where work is so unrelentingly emphasized, it’s hard to take time off the daily grind to sharpen our brains without feeling like you’re falling behind. But that’s the illusion. The woodcutter who doesn’t take time to sharpen his axe ends up being more unproductive in the long-run.

On today’s episode of The Tai Lopez Show, we are discussing the value of reading. When is the last time you read a book cover-to-cover? If that question is hard to answer, it’s time to recognize that your modern-day axe (your brain) is becoming dull from the daily grind. Today’s insights will help you reach the conclusion that gathering knowledge is equally important as applying that knowledge in your day-to-day.

Points to Keep In Mind

  • Learn to read people’s neuroticism when hiring
    • Too low of neuroticism is hippy-demeanor, will not be focused
    • But high neuroticism will overreact to small thing
  • Low conscientiousness is procrastination, laziness, not goal-oriented, etc.
  • Shy extroverts are very different than introverts but have similar first impressions
  • Read Personality By Daniel Nettle to learn how to read people using the Big 5
  • Knowledge is useless unless you learn how to apply it
  • Bill Gates says he will always choose the lazy person to do the job because that person knows how to do it the quicker way
  • Reprogram your mindset to be more efficient
  • Spend hours sharpening your brain, and then you will go out and execute
  • Don’t be a slave to productivity, and think about how to spend your time instead of just working all the time
  • It’s harder to stay in shape for ten years than it is to make money for ten years
