We can’t deny how much status means.
As we stand in line waiting to buy the newest iPhone, it’s clear we’re doing it for the status symbol. Our current one works just fine, but the newest model from the most futuristic company on the planet is the microphone we need to tell the world: “I am of high status."

Professor Buss is the author of The New Science of the Mind, and currently teaches at the University of Texas at Austin. He has previously taught at Harvard and the University of Michigan, and today he explains how the principles of evolutionary psychology can be applied to you and your business.
